A man has been jailed for the sickening murder of his 25-year-old girlfriend after he cut her into pieces and flushed her body parts down the toilet.
Erik Francisco Robledo, 46, killed Ingrid Escamilla at his home in Mexico in February 2020.

He was handed the maximum possible sentence of 70 years after a trial which saw over 26 hearings, ended last Thursday.
Robledo confessed to his horrendous crimes, which involved skinning and dismembering Escamilla and disposing of body parts and internal organs down the toilet.
Neighbours are thought to have called police after seeing the killer leaving his home dripping in blood.
He was then heard saying that he got into a big row with Escamilla and gave her a beating.
"She said she wanted to kill me and I said do it. She took a knife and I said do it at once. She stabbed me once and I said do it stronger. And she tried two more times," he was heard saying.
When asked why he disemboweled her body, he said in court: "I did not want anyone to know."
He added: "I used the same knife she attacked me with to stab her in her throat. I threw pieces of her dead body into the drainage system because I felt ashamed."
Footage gathered from the same night shows Robledo, formerly a civil engineer, being stopped by police with blood on his chest.
Prosecutor Nelly Montealegre, a gender violence specialist, said the case was being treated as a femicide – a term used for when women are killed for being women.
The victim reported her partner to authorities in 2019 for domestic violence, but later dropped the charges.
Ingrid was studying for a masters degree in tourism. She listed her hobbies as adventures, pets, and nature, on her social media account.
Following the verdict, the General Prosecutor's Office of Justice of Mexico City said: "We obtained a sentence of 70 years in prison against Erick Francisco 'N' after proving his criminal responsibility in the familicide of the young woman."
Robledo was also ordered to cover Ingrid's funeral costs and pay compensation to her family.
Antelma Vargas, Ingrid's mother, said the verdict showed justice was possible for victims of femicide.
She said: "I feel satisfied, although that is not going to bring my daughter back to life, but for those people who are living those processes that we live so long, that they do not give up, that they do not lose faith, that they fight until they achieve their goal because they do can."
Gender based violence in Mexico is rife, with an average of 10 women killed by an abusive partner every day with only 1% of cases making it to court.
