Family of eight including six kids killed by house fire in ‘murder suicide’

A shocking eight family members, including six children, have been found dead at a home ravaged by fire.

The tragic event in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, US, is being investigated as a ‘murder-suicide’ due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding the cause of devastating deaths amidst an inferno.

Police are looking to determine whether both adults were involved in the crime as the deaths do not appear to be due to the blaze.

News of an entire family being killed in one blaze was revealed at a police conference, where authorities said all the children's bodies were found in one bedroom. The identities of the children, aged from one to thirteen, were not revealed.

Brandon Berryhill, the Broken Arrow Police Chief, refused to comment on whether they believe both or just one adult were involved in the deaths, pending an investigation.

The police cannot yet identify the children nor their relationships to the adults until the medical examiners have finished their work.

"It’s because investigators are still trying to piece together what happened with eight people dead,” police spokesman Ethan Hutchins said.

While the causes of the death are still under investigation, the Fire Department Chief Jenny Moore said it doesn’t seem as if anyone died due to the fire as guns were recovered from the home.

It has also reported that the guns were scorched in the fire, making them difficult to identify.

There is also an investigation to track down where and how many firearms were purchased but there is no news so far.

“To arrive on scene yesterday and to see the looks on our first responders’ and firefighters’ faces just absolutely broke my heart,” Moore said Friday.

The fire was reported late this week at around 4pm in the evening in a quiet residential area of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

The two adults found dead in the front of the house had injuries that “appeared to be criminal in nature,” Moore said.

Police said both adults were considered “primary suspects” because they were found in the front of the home while the children were all found in a bedroom, where the fire was contained.

“The children were found dead in another area of the home,” he said.

According to the Police the incident is being investigated as a homicide. The first one Broken Arrow, a sleepy residential area, has had this year.
