Bodybuilding legend who beat Schwarzenegger vows to keep lifting weights at 130

One of America’s most famous musclemen is still lifting weights at the age of 80 – and he has vowed not to stop until he turns 130-years-old.

Frank Zane, who has won every single one of bodybuilding’s major titles including Mr Olympia and Mr Universe three times, is one of only three men to have ever beaten Arnold Schwarzenegger in competition.

The legendary hunk hit headlines last year after he wowed fans by releasing a clip showcasing a new range of workout videos.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Frank said: “I still work out on a regular basis, people aren’t surprised that I keep going.

“I will do it for as long as I possibly can. I’m 80 now and I’ll probably do it until I’m 120 or 130.”

The impressive athlete’s longevity has stunned followers who are dazzled he has kept it up since his peak of public attention, when he was dubbed 'The Chemist' for having a bachelor's degree in science.

Frank was also credited with revolutionising bodybuilding after he led the way in the then-unusual use of legal nutritional supplements.

He explained: “I stay in shape, I eat good, I work out on a regular basis. I do something every day, I follow a three way split routine.

“I train anywhere from three to six times a week, when I have clients I workout with them.

“I don’t get sick, I stay positive, I don’t hang around with negative people, only people who help me grow and that’s the whole thing.

“I have been using food supplements for 30 years and people consort with me on a regular basis to find out more about that.

“I was a chemistry major in college so that’s how the name the chemist got started.”

The inspiring elder is also focusing on writing and gives advice to aspiring bodybuilders.

He has penned several books including the Zane Bodybuilding Manual, which is available to buy on his website.
