Inside spooky abandoned tunnel untouched for decades – and it's hiding a bizarre feature | The Sun

A SPOOKY abandoned tunnel has been left untouched for decades – and it's hiding a bizarre feature.

The old railway tunnel in Cymmer, Wales hasn't been used since 1960.

What was once a functioning railway tunnel now barely stands strong and has an eerie sense to it.

Sections of the tunnel have even collapsed since being out of action.

Recently deemed as a safety hazard, future public access has been denied.

An emergency closure was put in place in February last year which saw small metal gates placed at both ends.

Built in 1882, the first train didn't pass through until 1890 – and it was only used for 70 years.

Buried under grass and overgrown plants, the horseshoe-shaped tunnel means you cannot see from one end to the other.

However, if you stood in the middle, the angle of the bend lets you see light from both entrance and exit.

Despite being a heritage feature in the area, the tunnel isn't listed and conversations of new plans for the site have already started taking place.
