Turkey Trotters, people making last-minute dashes to the store and those driving cross-town to see family and friends will have cooler and dry weather this Thanksgiving.
Frank Cooper with the National Weather Service in Boulder said the clouds will stick around Thursday, and there might be a few snow flurries during the day. The high temperatures will be in the upper 30s to low 40s in the Denver and Boulder areas and in the 20s to low 30s in the mountains.
The mountains received a few snow showers overnight.
Northern winds of between 10 mph to 20 mph could kick up during the day, Cooper said. It was gustier on the Eastern Plains, where winds of up to 40 mph were reported Thursday morning.
“We’re expecting it to be pretty dry and a little warmer over the weekend,” Cooper said.
The Denver area will see highs in the mid-50s and mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies Friday and Saturday.
