Terrified dog owners have been coming up with ways to make themselves feel safer on their walks following the disappearance of Nicola Bulley.
Anxiety surrounding Nicola and what might have happened to her has reached a fever pitch in recent days, following the news that a specialist dive team pulled out of the River Wyre search.
People have been taking to online groups to discuss Nicola’s disappearance, share theories and information, and support one another in an effort to ensure peoples’ safety when out walking.

Posting in the 25k member strong Facebook group Supporting the finding of Nicola Jane Bulley, a user said: “Found this which is a brilliant idea. I carry an alarm but think I will get one of these also what steps does everyone else take?”
They were captioning an image of a dog harness that allowed owners to strap a GoPro camera to their pooch.
The idea comes after the central role that Nicola’s dog Willow has played in conversations since her owner’s disappearance.
Available for just £9.99, the harness allows owners to attach a range of cameras around their pet's midriff.
Another scared member of the group, clearly also concerned about her daughter’s safety, commented: “Nicola has had a huge impact on my life, I've even bought my daughter a £150 Gps watch.”

Another woman, posting an image of her enormous Rottweiler said: "I feel protected when I have my baby with me.
“I hate walking alone without him but even I am thinking about getting a tracking device. The world is a scary place.”
Others suggested Apple Air tags, cans of mini deodorant and even carrying hot drinks as a way to make people feel safer.
