Police were alerted after residents reported an ambulance moving ‘aggressively’ without headlights on near Mercer University Drive in Macon.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said that the vehicle was later spotted doing ‘burnouts’ in a car park – when a vehicle is stationary but the wheels are spinning.
When officers arrived at the scene, the 48-year-old refused to exit the stolen vehicle and continued to lead officers on a short pursuit.
Soon after, Barker ditched the vehicle and attempted to flee officers while on foot, but he was subdued and arrested.
The publication reported that Baker had active warrants out of Bibb and Douglas counties.
