A man's sheer dumb luck paid off after he won a massive £600,000 lottery jackpot following seven near death experiences that included a plane crash and his car falling down a 300ft cliff.
Frano Selak, a former music teacher, won the huge jackpot after buying the winning ticket in Croatia in 2005 to celebrate his fifth marriage.
His win came after several close shaves with death, the first of which came in 1962, when a train he was on plunged into an icy river, killing seventeen people.

In the years that followed, he was thrown out of a plane in 1963, involved in a bus crash in 1966, car fires in 1970 and 1973, another bus crash (this time he was hit by one) in 1995, and his car toppling off a 300 ft cliff in 1996.
The world’s unluckiest (or maybe luckiest?) lottery winner said that in each instance, he either escaped with minor injuries or managed to escape the vehicle before taking any damage.
Astoundingly, his major win was the very first time he had ever bought a lottery ticket.
He previouslytold the Telegraphthat he wanted to give it all away: "All I need at my age is my Katarina. Money would not change anything.
"When she arrived I knew then that I really did have a charmed, blessed life.
Dad who won $31m on lottery said it was 'worst thing ever' before tragic 8 words to wife
"I never thought I was lucky to survive all my brushes with death. I thought I was unlucky to be in them in the first place."
He reportedly sold his luxury home on a private island and gave hefty sums to friends and family, keeping only enough for a hip replacement to allow him to spend time with his wife and to build a shrine to the Virgin Mary to give thanks for his luck.
Frano passed away in 2016 at the age of 87.
