Map reveals where Poundland will be opening new stores in the next few weeks

Poundland has decided to open 15 new stores in the coming weeks, as the budget chain continues to expand across the country.

It comes after the retailer said it would open 12 new Poundland stores in March.

The retailer has confirmed nine new stores will be opened in Cardiff, Frome. Ipswich, Selby, Stafford, Ryde, Torquay, Pontefract, and Braehead.

The Braehead store will be a relocation, while the Torquay store will be an expansion on an already existing store.

Another six outlets are set to open across the country before September ends, depending on landlord agreements.

Primark has slashed prices on its big brand favourites including, Nivea shower creams, Lynx deodrant, Harpic cleaning gels and Johnson cotton buds

Poundland’s expansion are a part of wider agenda to put 50 new stores in high streets and shopping centres across the country, in a plan that will generate up to 800 new jobs.

The budget retail giant has also slashed the prices of some shopper favourites in a bid coined ‘Operation Sell for Less’.

To the joy of many of many bargain hunters, the retailer has reduced the price of Nivea shower creams, Lynx deodrant, Harpic cleaning gels and Johnson cotton buds from £1.25 to £1.

They have even gone a step further, lowering some items below £1, with the £1 price tag of various Bodyform lines and Pot Noodles falling to 75p.

The chain’s trading director Tim Bettley promised to deliver customers amazing value as they continue to worrying about their purse strings, despite inflation dropping from 8.7 to 7.9 per cent in June.

He said: ‘We’ve worked hard since the beginning of the cost of living crisis to maintain our promise of amazing value to customers – and our consistent, steady growth shows they’ve noticed.’

‘But we also know the pressures are still real.

‘Energy prices may be falling, but mortgage costs are on the rise so our job, now inflation is beginning to ease, is to do everything we can to pass on lower prices as soon as we can.

‘We know that discounters like us passing on cost savings quickly, can help lower prices right across the market and drive inflation down faster.

‘We’re committed to that mission of delivering amazing value – and it we know how much that matters to our customers.’
