The Met Office has issued a verdict on whether we can expect a final heatwave as the cold months approach.
Much of the UK has endured a pretty bleak summer with frequent downpours, average temperatures and even weather warnings.
Many Brits are now pinning their hopes on a warm September in a last-ditch attempt to bask in some sunshine before winter arrives, with some praying for an Indian Summer – a period of uncharacteristically warm weather in autumn.

The forecaster has now said we could be in for an unimpressive start to the month but said temperatures could pick up as the weeks go by.
"There are currently few strong signals for the first half of September, meaning that typical early-Autumnal conditions are the most likely scenario across the UK," it said.
"Northern and western areas are likely to see more unsettled weather, with the greatest likelihood of drier weather being in the south and east.
"It is also possible that some more prolonged spells of warm weather might affect areas towards the later stages of the period.

"Temperatures are generally expected to be close to average at first but may become slightly above average as the month progresses."
The forecaster is always keen to stress long-range predictions can be subject to change, meaning a heatwave isn't completely off the cards just yet.
Looking to the more immediate future, the August Bank Holiday is looking like it could be a washout with those hoping to enjoy the sun likely to be left disappointed.
Of the coming weekend, the forecaster wrote: "Changeable with sunshine and showers on Saturday, locally heavy.
"Turning cloudier on Sunday with rain pushing across east. Some showers or rain possible on Monday. Breezy at times."
