Grayscale, the world’s largest cryptocurrency asset manager, announced yesterday that the total value of the company’s crypto assets under management (AUM) has reached nearly $52 billion. Grayscale started this year with a total of $20 billion worth of digital assets under management.
According to an official announcement on Twitter, Grayscale has more than 650,000 Bitcoin under management with a total value of over $37 billion. The company’s total digital assets under management currently stand at around $51.8 billion.

Ethereum is the second-largest holding of Grayscale as the company has more than 3 million ETH worth over $11 billion. The total value of Grayscale’s ETH assets under management has jumped significantly this year amid a surge in the price of Ethereum. Grayscale is one the largest institutional holders of the world’s second-most valuable cryptocurrency.
Ethereum Classic (ETC) remained the third-largest holding of the asset manager. According to the latest numbers, the US-based company has more than 12 million ETC under management with a total value of over $1.6 billion. ETC is the 13th most valuable cryptocurrency in the world. The digital asset is currently trading above $137 with a market cap of more than $15 billion. ETC has gained nearly 300% within the last 7 days.
Cryptocurrency Portfolio
In March 2021, Grayscale expanded its cryptocurrency portfolio with the introduction of Basic Attention Token (BAT), Chainlink (LINK), Decentraland (MANA), Filecoin (FIL) and Livepeer (LPT) investment trusts. Grayscale’s Litecoin (LTC) investment trust is one of the most valuable trusts of the company. The asset manager has more than 1.5 million LTC under management worth approximately $500 million. Furthermore, the overall value of Grayscale’s Bitcoin Cash (BCH) trust has increased significantly during the last few weeks amid a jump in the price of BCH. Bitcoin Cash gained nearly 50% within the last 7 days as the total market cap of BCH crossed $26 billion.
As of writing, the overall market cap of cryptocurrency assets is hovering around $2.4 trillion, which is its highest level on record.
