A sheriff’s captain in Georgia claimed the Atlanta spa shooter had “a really bad day” prior to committing a massacre that left eight people dead, authorities said Wednesday.

Capt. Jay Baker of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office made the cryptic remark about Robert Aaron Long during a morning press briefing on the series of shootings.

“He was pretty much fed up and kind of at the end of his rope, and yesterday was a really bad day for him, and this is what he did,” said Baker, without elaborating further on what pushed Long, 21, over the edge.

Long shot up three Atlanta-area spas and massage parlors on Tuesday afternoon, killing eight people, according to authorities, who indicated he has admitted to the slayings.

Six of the victims were Asian women, fueling initial speculation that the spree may have been racially-motivated.

While authorities have not ruled out that the attacks were motivated by hate, Long — who told investigators he has a sex addiction — indicated that they were not, officials said.
