A billionaire member of motoring dynasty Porsche has filed divorce proceedings against his elderly wife citing a “dementia-like illness” as a reason he wishes to end the marriage, it is reported. Executive Wolfgang Porsche, 79, is understood to have found living with his 74-year-old wife Claudia impossible because of her illness, according to sources close to the family.

The couple married in 2019 having been together since 2007, the Mirror reports. Media in Germany have reported grandmother Claudia has been living close to her daughter and has four carers who look after her 24/7.

It’s understood her mental awareness has undergone a rapid deterioration and she has not been able to move for herself for some months, her family say.

Wolfgang Heinz Porsche is a German-Austrian shareholder and chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche Automobil Holding SE, as well as of Porsche AG.

The Stuttgart-born executive is the youngest son of former Porsche AG designer and Chief Executive Officer Ferdinand ‘Ferry’ Porsche and Dorothea Reitz.

His oldest brother is Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche, who designed the first Porsche 911.

He has four children, two to director and screenplay writer Susanne Bresser, whom he married in 1988 and divorced in 2008.

He lives in Zell am See, in Austria.
