Boy, 11, dies in ‘unexplained’ medical emergency as cops launch probe | The Sun

POLICE have launched an investigation after an 11-year-old boy died in 'unexplained' circumstances in Staffordshire.

He was reported to have had a medical episode in Burton at around 8.37am on Friday.

Three ambulances and officers scrambled to assist the boy but he tragically died at the scene in Nelson Street.

The youngster's family are being supported by specially-trained officers following the horror.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called to Nelson Street in Burton at 8.37am on Friday (August 4), following reports of a medical episode.

"Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service.

"Sadly, an 11-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His family are being supported by specially-trained officers at this difficult time.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are continuing."
