A man who lured multiple women into his RV, offering a warm spot or a place to sleep, has been sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting five women.
Darrell Eugene Wall, 51, was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County District Court from 24 years to life in prison, according to the district attorney’s office.
Wall was found guilty in October on two counts of sexual assault, and one count of unlawful sexual contact with force, both felony charges.
The court imposed consecutive sentences amounting to a total of 24 years to life in prison, said the DA’s news release. Under Colorado’s Lifetime Supervision of Sex Offenders Act, Wall will remain in prison indefinitely until determined that he’ll not pose a community threat if released.
Wall assaulted five woman in separate attacks between June 2018 and November 2019, prosecutors said.
“Darrell Wall is a serial rapist who targeted the most vulnerable people in our community – the unhoused and those struggling with substance abuse and other health challenges, who lacked helpful support systems,” said Chief Deputy District Attorney Katharine Decker, in the release. “By targeting the most vulnerable and least likely to have help, Darrell Wall succeeded for a time in evading prosecution. But thanks to the diligence of law enforcement and the bravery and resilience of these women, we were able to ensure that he cannot continue to exploit the most vulnerable in our community.”
