Temperatures in Denver will reach 90 degrees Thursday before parts of the area get an evening thunderstorm cool down.
Storms will develop in the mountains before moving into the Front Ranger urban corridor in the evening, with localized heavy rain and some strong wind gusts.
Stronger storms in the area could bring gusts of up to 40 mph.
The heavy rain will also bring an elevated risk of flash flooding, mainly in the East Troublesome and Cameron Peak burn areas.
Localized areas could see half an inch or rain in 30 minutes.
Denver itself has about a 40% chance of storms, mainly between 3 and 8 p.m.
The high temperature for the day is 90 degrees, and the low tonight is 62 degrees after the storm chances.
The high temperatures with afternoon storm chances will continue through the weekend, but the storm chances will taper off by Sunday.
