Tributes have been made to a “bright” 11-year-old girl who tragically passed in a ‘chemical incident’ at an apartment in east London.
Fatiha Sabrin was rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive at the family home in Nida House on Sutton Street in Shadwell on Saturday.
She sadly passed away in hospital as her mother and brother reportedly continue to be treated.
According to The Sun, Sabrin, her mother Kanji Fatema and seven-year-old brother Shamiul had all been experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea in the hours leading up to being taken to hospital.
Fatiha’s father was away on business in Bangladesh and has been trying to get back to the UK since the incident occured, according to a family friend Sabbir Ahmad.
Speaking to MyLondon, Sabbir said: “She was a very bright girl. She was in my home eight or nine days ago and were discussing her future plans.
"She was very responsive and told me she wanted to be a doctor, and wanted to make something very good of her life.
"She was also a great writer, she received awards for her writing skills."

Sabbir said it was his wife who called an ambulance for the family after finding them in trouble.
Fatiha was a pupil at Buttercup Primary School, which is less than a mile from the apartment.
Tower Hamlets councillor Rabina Khan named Fatiha publicly on Twitter over the weekend as she helped other evacuated residents of the apartment to find accommodation until it is safe for them to return.

Residents are now in hotels and are expected to remain there for two days.
A number of other residents complained of feeling unwell in the apartment building, according to the Metropolitan Police.
London Fire Brigade conducted a sweep of the building and a quantity of chemicals, believed to be used for pest control, were discovered.
A special post mortem will take place on Fatiha as police currently treat her death as unexplained.
