A head chef who sexually assaulted three women in their beds was jailed for nearly four years and warned he could face deportation.

Adam Skiba, 31, went from room to room systematically preying on his terrified victims in south west London in 2019.

Skiba worked as a head chef for the popular restaurant and bar chain Bill’s but a judge said it was likely he would face deportation to Poland after he has served his sentence.

Hugh Forgan, prosecuting, told the Old Bailey how Skiba pinned one of the women down in her bed and put his hand inside her pyjama bottoms.

Another victim recalled Skiba climbing into bed with her while she was asleep.

Mr Forgan said: ‘She froze, he (Skiba) slobbering over her, asking her: ‘Are you not enjoying that?’ She pushed him away saying; ‘What the f***?’ and told him to get out.’

He added: ‘He went from room to room systematically preying on each of them in a calculated way. He was methodical.’

Skiba was reported to police and arrested two days later.

He admitted assault by penetration and six counts of sexual assault by touching, reflecting the various acts he carried out on his three victims.

Reading her victim statement in court, one woman said she was not able to sleep properly for three months after the assault and had to take a week off work.

She said: ‘I panicked and had to make sure all the doors in the house were locked. The last few months again I have had bad sleep, waking up in the night with terrible panic attacks and screaming with fear.

‘This has completely changed the way I think about people. I am less trusting and weary of others that I meet.’

Another victim said she no longer feels able to date people.

Sarah Thorne, defending, described the assaults as ‘a complete aberration in the life of this young man.’

The judge, Mr Recorder Bernard Richmond, KC, said: ‘What you did that night to these three women was horrible and terrifying to each of them.

Hugh Forgan, prosecuting, told the Old Bailey (above) how Skiba pinned one of the women down in her bed and put his hand inside her pyjama bottoms

‘It demonstrated behaviour that was more than persistent. You blatantly ignored the most obvious signs that you were not wanted.

‘You must have known that they were not interested in you even on a social level. She must have been absolutely terrified. You invaded the privacy of her room and her personal privacy.’

Skiba, of Wandsworth, was sentenced to three years and 11 months imprisonment and he will remain on the sex offenders’ register for life.

The judge told him: ‘There is a strong likelihood that you will be deported back to Poland.’

Commending the bravery of the victims in coming forward, he said: ‘Nothing I can do today will in any way make the pain and hurt which these women have suffered feel any better.

‘I hope this gives you some degree of closure.’
