Meghan and Harry ‘think media should pay them for reporting’, claims expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “think they should be paid by the media for reporting on them” as they feel “they should profit” from their status as royal celebrities, an expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who pocketed millions of pounds from their recent bombshell six-part series with Netflix, have pulled no punches in their accusations of media intrusion and damaging leaks.

But according to royal author Tom Bower, who penned Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors , the controversial pair are hypocritical in their attitude and mainly care about making money.

He told The Sun: "They keep complaining about media intrusion, and yet keep opening themselves up to it.

“They always blame the media, but the media they are blaming is the same media they went and seduced with the likes of Oprah and magazines, and now Netflix.

"I think it’s for money. The whole point is they think they should be paid by the media for reporting on them. They want money for interviews and for appearances.”

His comments come amid a storm surrounding the Sussexes and the royal revelations they exposed during their Netflix show.

For a reported price of a whopping £88 million, Harry and Meghan threw explosive allegations at The Firm, including claims that Prince William “screamed and shouted” at his younger brother and King Charles consistently leaked negative stories to the press.

Bower added: "Meghan wants to profit from being a celebrity, like how she was brought up. She could never understand how royal 'celebs' were not paid.

"They feel they should be profiting from their royal celebrity status. Previously, they were not paid."
