Melania Trump walks away as Donald Trump waves
Mr and Mrs Trump flew from Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC to West Palm Beach in Florida, and were greeted by reporters on the runway. While the former President stopped to wave for the cameras, the ex-First Lady made a beeline for an awaiting car. Rumours flared up last year Mrs Trump could split from the 45th President in the wake of his election defeat to Joe Biden.
At 11:08am local time (4:08pm GMT), Mr and Mrs Trump disembarked Air Force One to head to Mar-a-Lago.
The former President said something inaudible to the reporters as Mrs Trump headed straight to their car.
The clip of the First Lady leaving her husband behind was shared on social media, with users joking she is “totally done”.
One said: “Melania is totally done. She already quit posing.”

Twitter users also suggested the clip showed how the Trump’s are close to divorce now the Presidency is over.
One user said: “That’s a divorce move haha.”
Another added: “His own wife couldn’t wait to get away from him.”
Some users noticed Mr Trump “pushed” Mrs Trump to the car, and said they were “rude to the end”.
Divorce rumours surged after Mr Trump lost the election to Joe Biden, who was inaugurated as President yesterday.
Omarosa Manigault Newman, ex-aide to the former First Lady, said in November: “Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce.
“If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her.”
She added later to ITV’s Lorraine Mrs Trump is “repulsed’ by her husband.
Mrs Trump made a brief speech before boarding Air Force One, after the outgoing President invited her to “say a few words”.
She said: “Being your first lady was my greatest honour.
“Thank you for your love and your support, you will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.
“God bless your families, and God bless this beautiful nation.”
Social media users also lashed out at the former First Lady over reports she asked a East Wing staffer to write her thank you letters to White House employees.
CNN reported she signed the letters to around 80 staffers but would not write them herself.
The outlet also quoted sources close to the First Lady who believe she is “checked out” and “just wants to go home”.
They added Mrs Trump is “not sad to be leaving” Washington and the White House.
