Moment jealous builder smashed his Transit van into his ex-girlfriend’s car when she dumped him and he wrongly accused her of cheating
- Nathan Maynard, 36, was captured on CCTV ramming his silver Ford into ex’s car
- The smash happened after series of ‘abusive’ messages’ to his ex, a court heard
This is the shocking moment a jealous labourer brazenly smashes his Transit van into his former lover’s car after she ended their relationship over false cheating allegations.
Nathan Maynard, 36, was captured on CCTV cameras ramming his silver Ford into his ex-girlfriends car as she turned into the street.
After hitting her vehicle, Maynard can be seen quickly turning his van around and speeding off.
A court heard how the smash took place after a series of ‘abusive and threatening messages’ to his ex and even phone calls to her father asking to fight.
Maynard ‘simply couldn’t deal’ with the fact that his ex-partner had begun dating someone new, the court heard, and let his jealousy ‘fester’.

Maynard had been sending his ex-girlfriend text messages to say: ‘I hate the fact you’re going out with him. I promise you he’s going to get hurt. You ain’t seen nothing yet.’
Newport Crown Court heard Maynard became bitter when their five-year relationship ended – and he wrongly accused her of cheating.
Prosecutor Bethan Evans said: ‘He said he was going to kill him and he called his ex-partner a s**t.
‘The defendant told her he would make her new boyfriend’s life hell.’
The court heard Maynard went to his ex-girlfriend’s home in Cwmbran, South Wales, in November but she wasn’t there.
He was then filmed using his van to ram her car when she drove down the road before he reversed and drove off.
The victim was taken to the Grange University Hospital for treatment. Her car was also left with damage to the front of the vehicle, which Maynard has paid for.
Maynard, of Risca, pleaded guilty dangerous driving and harassment. He also admitted stealing an £80 pram from another victim in an unrelated matter.

Defending Alice Sykes said the construction worker carried out a ‘highly dangerous manoeuvre.’
She said: ‘It was impulsive and he’s shown genuine remorse and he feels ashamed.’
Judge Recorder David Elias KC said: ‘Your relationship had come to an end in around September of this year and your ex-partner had gone on to meet a new partner.
‘You simply could not deal with that and you began immediately to accuse her of cheating on and she was doing nothing of the sort.
‘That jealousy no doubt festered, and you began to harass her, first of all by sending messages to her.
‘You sent abusive and threatening messages to her. You even put calls into her father, leaving messages for him and wanting to meet him to fight him.’
Maynard was handed an eight months suspended sentence over 18 months and must complete 29 sessions of a ‘Building Better Relationships’ programme.
He was also given an indefinite restraining order and banned from driving for two years. He must sit an extended retest to regain his licence.
