A dog owner thought their beloved pooch was at death's door after she ate something discarded at the beach – but the pet was actually just getting really high.
Owner Anne-Marie Parker believed her pup Nancy had ingested palm oil, which can cause serious trouble for dogs, although a trip to the vet – and a certain stench – later proved otherwise.
Although terrified at the time, Anne-Marie says she and her family fell into a "fit of giggles" once they realised Nancy had scoffed "a reefer" on West Shore beach in Llandudno, reports NorthWalesLive.

Anne-Marie said: "We didn’t have a dog that was at death’s door. We had a dog that was stoned.
"Nancy hadn’t eaten something discarded from a BBQ, she’d eaten a reefer! We collapsed into a fit of giggles."
But at the time of the incident it was far from funny as Anne-Marie believed her pooch had ingested something toxic.
She added: "I turned around for a moment and when I looked back, I saw Nancy chewing at something. I didn’t think anything of it, I just shoo-ed her away from whatever it was."
Taking her home, Anne-Marie then popped into town. When she returned, 90 minutes later, she found Nancy in a terrible state
Unable to stand, she was twitching “strangely”. Anne-Marie said: “She wasn’t able to hold up her back end and her eyes were all spaced out. I was thinking, oh my God, the dog is going to die! I could see that’s what the children were thinking that too."
The dog was rushed to Mochdre Vets. As her symptoms suggested some kind of seizure or stroke, an MRI scan was discussed – never a cheap option.
At that point, Nancy pulled herself together. Being a food-oriented dog, she was offered a gravy bone and that seemed to do the trick – she vomited 30 seconds later.
“The aroma of weed was unmistakable,” said Anne-Marie. “She’d eaten marijuana on the beach. It must have been the stub end of a joint – I doubt she would have survived a whole one!”
Emily gave Nancy activated charcoal to absorb the drug. She was then taken home for a spot of pampering.
“We kept a close eye on her,” said Anne-Marie, who shared Nancy’s story to warn other pet owners. “She was very dopey for the rest of the evening.
“She began nodding off on the sofa, which the kids thought was hilarious, and she finally went to sleep dreaming of pink elephants. The following morning she was ravenous.”
