Shark Force One: Incredible photograph of lemon shark taken in Florida shares striking resemblance with former president Trump

  • Underwater photographer Tanner Mansell, 27, took the image back in 2019
  • After sharing the picture on social media, people noticed the similarity to Trump

The sight of a prowling shark is normally a scary sight, but the fear factor was diminished when a picture was taken of one in Florida when it was compared to Donald Trump.

Underwater photographer and videographer Tanner Mansell, 27, from Jupiter, Florida, captured the image of the nine-ft lemon shark with a striking resemblance to the former president while on a dive off the coats of his home town.

The incredible photo shows the shark from a side angle, just underneath the surface of the water.

The marine predator has it’s mouth open, displaying rows of razor-sharp teeth, as if ready to tear a bite out of an unsuspecting victim.

The striking image was originally taken in December back in 2019, but Tanner recently shared it on social media.

Within a few days the image has already been liked more than 31,000 times.

Part of the picture’s popularity comes from the striking resemblance the shark shares with former president Donald Trump.

Responding to the images, one person said: ‘I wanna apologise in advance to the shark but he looks like Trump.’

While another said: ‘Looks like Donald Trump Shark.’

With a third person saying: ‘Am I alone to see a trump hair shape?’

Tanner said he was shocked by the response his pictures received from people on social media and he said that he hadn’t noticed the Trump comparison when he originally took the photo.

He said: ‘When I first posted the photo, it completely blew up. I was surprised to see the number of comments it got regarding Trump.

‘I didn’t see it at first but I can see what people are saying. That was always the top comment with many people agreeing.

‘I think it’s funny and unique. I have never heard of anybody comparing a shark to a human.’

Tanner, who said he is ‘truly happiest’ when taking pictures underwater, explained that the reason the shark was baring its teeth is because it was doing something known as ‘gaping’.

He said: ‘After a meal, sometimes the ligaments and tendons can become stressed and out of place, so the sharks will open their jaws as wide as they can to re-align everything, and extend their jaws from the head.

‘Kind of like they will do before chomping down on a big meal. I had been trying to get a photo of the ‘jaw gaping’ for over a year, I had seen them do it so many times but they were always too far away, facing the wrong direction, and I never had the opportunity to photograph it.

‘On this day everything worked out and I got the photo.’

Speaking about his work and love of sharks, Tanner added: ‘I work with companies here and there for content but more importantly I take photos of guests with sharks to help inspire the world to love them and in turn protect them.

‘I work for Florida Shark Diving, we run three charters a day, three boats seven days a week (weather depending) to go see sharks and it is my job to capture these moments for people.

‘I have never loved anything more.’
