Prince William and Prince Harry have put Lady Diana “right at the heart” of the royal family and “have done it together,” a royal expert has said.
Despite the brothers’ well-publicised differences over the past few years, the royal duo came together to unveil a statue to honour their late mum.
And now historian Robert Lacey, author of the bestseller Battle of Brothers: William & Harry: The Inside Story of a Family in Tumulthas praised the pair, reports PEOPLE.
"In the past quarter of a century, they have placed their mother right at the heart of the royal family," he told the outlet.
“It’s something the Queen and Prince Charles certainly wouldn't have done," he added, but William and Harry "have done it together."
Both princes released a joint statement to maintain focus on Diana on what would have been their mum’s 60 th birthday.
Together, the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge said: "Today we remember her love, strength and character, qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.

They added: "Every day we wish she were still with us."
Others have praised the bravery and strength of the royal duo, with one of Diana’s old close friends telling PEOPLE the honour was about the spirit of the day.
“It was their memento, and they were very dignified about it,” they said.
Lacey has previously said the brothers are doing well to deal with their differences.
Whilst William is still carrying out royal duties, his younger brother moved across the Atlantic and set up the Archewell foundation to promote “compassion in action”.
“They demonstrated a constructive way of dealing with differences.
“They were not sweeping their differences under the carpet, but acknowledging more important things and doing that in a way that warmed everyone’s heart.
