It was bell on wheels on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Monday morning after a veggie truck overturned and jettisoned thousands of orange and yellow peppers on the road.
The truck toppled over a median around 7:14 a.m. — with its perishables peppering the roadway at Exit 30, which feeds into Brooklyn’s Flushing Avenue, photos of the scattered produce showed.
Authorities blocked off a lane of eastbound traffic to clean up the mess — which was still there more than three hours after the initial spill, according to New York’s 511 traffic reporting system.
There were no reported injuries associated with the crash, NBC4 said.
