Another major earthquake has struck central Turkey, this time with a magnitude of 7.7.
Both the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) and US Geological Survey are reporting the second quake.
Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority stated that it was slightly smaller at 7.6 magnitude.
It comes just hours after another monster tremor, with a magnitude of 7.8, struck both Turkey and Syria.
The death toll stands at at least 1,300 but it is thought that number could rise to 10,000.
The first quake was centred in the town of Pazarcik in Turkey's Kahramanmaras province at a depth of 9.6km. It led to several powerful aftershocks.
The EMSC said the latest earthquake struck around 100km to the north of the first, just outside the town of Ekinozu, at a depth of 2km.
It was followed by an aftershock with a magnitude of 6.0 just 12 minutes later.
Earlier today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said "search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched" to the areas hit after images showed entire buildings reduced to rubble.
"We hope that we will get through this disaster together as soon as possible and with the least damage," he wrote on Twitter.
President Erdogan also said that more than 45 nations had so far offered Turkey assistance.
It is thought that the time the first quake occurred (4.17am local time) could contribute to the death toll being high given most people were asleep and inside.
UK foreign minister James Cleverly tweeted: "Tragic loss of life in the Türkiye and Syria earthquake.
"Our condolences go to the families of those who died and our thoughts are with the survivors.
"The UK stands ready to provide assistance."
