Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a man’s shooting death on East Colfax Avenue.
Jaime Humberto Espino-Amador, 19, and Jasmine Munoz, 22, have been arrested on suspicion of the Aug. 11 shooting death of 27-year-old Darrian Butler near Clermont Street and Colfax, according to Denver police.
Espino-Amador was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder, police said. Munoz was arrested last week on an unrelated charge. An arrest warrant for attempted first-degree murder has since been signed by a judge against Munoz for the shooting. The Denver District Attorney’s Office will determine formal charges.
A stolen Jeep Wranger and surveillance camera footage links Espino-Amador to the shooting, according to an arrest affidavit. Espino-Amador’s fingerprints were found in the recovered Jeep, which was recorded at the shooting scene. A spent cartridge found at the shooting scene was linked to a gun that was in turn linked to Munoz.
