Why Harry doesn’t see old army pal of 15 years despite both living in California

One of Prince Harry’s old Army buddies has revealed why he and the Duke of Sussex don’t see each other following a 15-year relationship — even though they both live in California.

Dean Stott, who has recently joined the directing team on this season's SAS Australia, first met Harry when they were on a training course for the British Army.

The pair then went on tours to Afghanistan together but Dean admits to not seeing his royal pal as much as he used to.

Harry left the Royal Family and the UK in 2020 to start a new life with Meghan Markle and his children in the US.

Since they met, both Dean and Harry have both gotten married with the admission that they have drifted apart over the years, despite both living in California.

Speaking to Australia's The Daily Telegraph, Dean said: “I have a young family and he has a young family so we can’t see each other as much – they’re not quite as local as people like to make out.”

The Duke of Sussex’s former army friend did say that it was “nice” to see Harry as a “family man”.

Dean does admit to feeling a little strange when he speaks to the media, despite record breaking achievements and his new TV career, he is continually asked “what my ginger friend is up to?”

He added: “I get friends from back home asking me about things they’ve seen in the press and I just reply I haven’t seen it.”

Harry is currently in the midst of his own battle as he brings a claim over the Home Office’s decision not to allow him to pay for police protection for himself and his family while in the UK.

The Duke wants to bring his children to visit from the US, but he feels they are “unable to return to his home” because it is too dangerous, a legal representative previously said.

The first hearing of the case took place at the Royal Courts of Justice in London today, which Harry did not attend.
