WWE SummerSlam is this weekend as titles and glory are on the line at what is traditionally the company's second biggest event of the whole year.
Indeed, many view SummerSlam as being behind only WrestleMania in the WWE pecking order, thanks to a rich history of stellar matches, standout moments and big surprises.
The 2023 instalment looks as though it will be no different as Roman Reigns, Logan Paul, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey all face action in Detroit.

There's a lot to pack in, so here's your handy Daily Star guide to what you can expect to see at this year's spectacular – we've even thrown in those all-important predictions, too, just so ready ourselves to have egg on our faces come Sunday morning!
When is WWE SummerSlam 2023?
SummerSlam takes place this Saturday night, August 5 in the United States. The show airs on Sunday morning here in the UK as the action hits Brit homes in early hours.
If you're in the UK, the action gets underway at 1am with the show likely to last around three to four hours.
Where is WWE SummerSlam 2023 being held?
SummerSlam comes from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
The venue is no stranger to major WWE action, having hosted WrestleMania 23 in 2007.
That show packed in over 80,000 fans as John Cena defeated Shawn Michaels in the main event.
How can I watch SummerSlam?
TNT Sports Box Office airs SummerSlam in the early hours of Sunday.
It's on TNT Sport Box Office 1 and Sky, Virgin Media and BT TV customers can order the event now for £19.95
If you're a WWE Network subscriber, you can catch all of the SummerSlam action at no extra cost to your £9.99 subscription. The show will air live and be available again to catch up shortly after.
What will be the SummerSlam main event?
It's hard to see any other answer other than the main event being the Tribal Combat encounter between cousins Roman Reigns and Jey Uso.
In wrestling terms, the match is for Reigns' coveted Undisputed Universal Championship, but there's plenty more at stake as family honour and pride are also up for grabs.
The feeling going into this one is that the latter matters almost more than the former. Certainly, it's hard to see that with Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Daniel Bryan, Drew McIntyre, Edge and countless others all slain by the present incumbent that Uso will be the one to snare away the gold.
That's why we'll be expecting Reigns to walk away with his championship in tact – even if everything else falls.
Daily Star Prediction: Roman Reigns
What's the full SummerSlam 2023 card?
In addition to Roman Reigns and Jey Uso facing off, here's what else you can expect to see in Detroit:
World Heavyweight Championship: Seth Rollins (c) v Finn Balor
Here's another clash in which championship gold seems to be of less than primary importance.
While Seth Rollins is undoubtedly a wildly popular superstar, it's not unreasonable to say his title reign has lacked a little momentum – and that's probably less something to lay at the door of the champ and more to do with how the title has been presented and positioned.
On one hand, Balor can scarcely avoid another big match without getting a victory so a title switch seems possible.
What is more in focus is the role that his Judgement Day brother Damian Priest will play. Will Priest cash in his Money in the Bank contract and make this a triple threat? Will he wait for Rollins to retain and pounce? Might he hold off for Finn to win and then stab him in the back?
Whatever the outcome, Rollins and Balor will shine, but the title is being done no favours by feeling so secondary.
Daily Star prediction: Seth Rollins
Cody Rhodes v Brock Lesnar
WWE's habit of using major, high-profile matches purely to set up other major, high-profile matches has reared its head over the last several months as Rhodes and Lensar have locked horns.
Lensar has regained some of his fearsomeness having lost some of that lustre over the last twelve months but, to the opposite end of the spectrum, having Cody Rhodes getting beaten up every week to achieve that aim has done a drifting American Nightmare no favours, either.
It seems a sure enough things that Rhodes will come out on top in what is effectively the rubber match between the two – just don't bet against the ending of this one being used to set up something else.
Daily Star prediction: Cody Rhodes
Women's World Championship: Asuka (c) v Charlotte Flair v Bianca Belair
It's a case of 'see above' for this one in so much as the issues brewing between Flair and Belair have overshadowed that this is a championship match.
Money in the Bank winner Io Sky is also looming on the horizon, too, so there's plenty of peril facing Asuka's title reign. It might just be that the madness surrounding everything else distracts those involved long enough for the champ to leg it out of the back door.
Daily Star prediction: Asuka
Ricochet v Logan Paul
It has been brilliant to see Ricochet being given the platform to perform in a major singles match at one of the biggest WWE events of the whole year.
The high-flying star, while popular, has struggled for a big breakthrough moment despite his years on the main roster, and perhaps this is it.
Credit must to go Logan Paul, too, who is prepared to put in the hard yards to perform at a level that makes his opponents look every bit as good as he does.
That said, Paul could do with a win, largely because he's pretty much lost all of the marquee match-ups he's been involved in.
These two will put on a match that gets replayed on highlight reels for months to come, so Paul can get the nod here without harming Ricochet.
Daily Star prediction: Logan Paul
Intercontinental Championship: Gunther (c) v Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre's return at Money in the Bank in London last month was one of the highlights of the night as he swiftly set his sights on the Intercontinental championship.
With Gunther fast approaching Honky Tonk Man's record IC title reign, it would almost seem churlish to whip the title away from The Ring General now, but WWE are far from above doing that.
SummerSlam's always carry a shock or two, so maybe this is the one? The Scot has been itching for another big match moment since losing at Clash at the Castle last year – this one is close to call.
Daily Star prediction: Gunther
Ronda Rousey v Shayna Baszler
Another SummerSlam match set up at Money in the Bank was this titanic clash between best pals and former UFC stars Rousey and Baszler.
This was a feud we were always going to get at some point and, with Rousey rumoured to be on her way from WWE again in the coming weeks, the rivalry looks to have been fast-tracked on screen.
The immediate results have been great – the talking heads packages on Raw this past week were a refreshing change and did the perfect job of telling their story.
If Rousey is on her way, then Baszler not coming out on top here looks unthinkable. Most likely is that Rousey does the honours for her buddy, and takes a good beating on the way out.
Slim Jim SummerSlam Battle Royal
The heavily-commercial WWE never misses an opportunity to wedge a sponsored match into a marquee event – given the revenue it generates, it's hard to argue with the business aspect of it.
It does also – sometimes at least, remember Extreme Rules? – offer some light relief to the heavy action elsewhere, so look for this one to carry some novelty value.
We're due to get 20 athletes enter this one. At time of writing on Friday, we're still 14 short so SmackDown should help to fill in the gaps.
While LA Knight will be the most talked-about entrant, this would seem a glib way to give him a standout moment. Instead, WWE might use this as a way to stoke the ire of fans. Look for someone like Dominik Mysterio to be added late and win the lot. Heck, maybe even Rhea?
Daily Star prediction: Anyone other than LA Knight
