Blockchain gaming platform Enjin has teamed with augmented reality (AR) platform MetaverseMe to introduce tradeable, augmented reality fashion assets to the Ethereum blockchain.
Following a successful ICO in 2017 that raised $18.9 million, Enjin began building a suite of blockchain products that enable anyone to easily create, manage, trade, store, explore, distribute, and integrate blockchain assets. Comprised of the Enjin Platform, Explorer, Wallet, Beam, and other tools and services, Enjin’s tools enable game developers and studios to utilize tokenized digital assets as part of their acquisition, retention, engagement, and monetization strategies. The Enjin ecosystem is fueled by Enjin Coin (ENJ), an Ethereum-based cryptocurrency used to directly back the value of Enjin-powered blockchain assets.
MetaverseMe was formed in 2020 by a team with a long history in video games, blockchain and eSports, to bring digital self and true ownership to multiplayer sports games utilizing blockchain, Augmented Reality and cutting edge digital fashion.
The two companies are working together to merge NFTs with augmented reality to create a next-generation gaming experience. The first NFTs that MetaverseMe will adopt is a collection called ‘Pluriform’, a limited run of digital-only fashion items created through an ongoing partnership between Enjin, Atari, MetaverseMe, and The Fabricant.
Users will be able to bring Plutiform’s uniquely scarce NFTs from MetaverseMe’s AR mode into other virtual worlds like Minecraft,The Six Dragons (coming soon to PlayStation) and the next incarnation of the successful KickOff franchise, KickOff Evolution. This immersive experience allows users to quickly snap selfies in the real world and generate hyper-realistic avatars, mapping users’ real-world environment, where their digital avatars can be brought to life as they wear and interact with their NFT fashion. Users can also record their Avatar wearing fashion NFTs in augmented reality and share the videos via social media.
