Bitcoin surged to an all-time high of more than $50,000 last week amid signs that it is fast gaining acceptance amongst mainstream investors. Piplsay, a global consumer research platform, surveyed over 30,000 Americans to understand their thoughts about cryptocurrency amid the latest buzz.
Here are some of the key findings:
- 57% of Americans understand cryptocurrency; 22% among them ‘quite well’
- 50% of Americans believe it is safe to invest in cryptocurrency
- 31% of Americans fear hacking or fraudulent activities with regards to cryptocurrency, while 27% fear lack of knowledge about the system
