Andrew Tate ‘sex trafficking victim’ was duped into becoming a webcam porn worker with a promise of marriage, Romanian authorities claim

  • Andrew Tate, 36, and his brother Tristan, 34, were arrested on charges of human trafficking and rape last week at their mansion in Bucharest, Romania
  • One of Tate’s alleged victims said she was recruited with a promise of marriage
  • Tate allegedly recruited scores of women and forced them to create porn

One of Andrew Tate’s alleged sex trafficking victims was duped into becoming a webcam porn worker with a promise of marriage, Romanian authorities have claimed.

The notorious misogynist, 36, was arrested last week along with his British brother Tristan, 34, at their luxury warehouse-style mansion just north of the capital Bucharest on charges of human trafficking and rape.

Tate allegedly recruited scores of women and held them under house arrest ‘like prisoners’ while forcing them to create online pornographic content.

Romanian prosecutors claim that Tate recruited the women on social media platforms and lured them to Bucharest by falsely professing his love and intention to marry them.

One of Tate’s alleged victims said she was promised marriage to one of the brothers, according to court documents obtained by Romanian news outlet Gandul. She was lured to Romania by Tate and Tristan ‘by misrepresenting the intention to establish a marriage or cohabitation relationship,’ prosecutors claim.

The woman was picked up at the airport by a ‘female accomplice’ after landing in Romania and she was initially promised that she would be living with her ‘boyfriend’.

But the woman was told ‘she would live with some girls who work for’ the brothers, prosecutors claim in the court documents. She was then allegedly forced to create pornographic content for the Tate brothers.

Romanian prosecutors claim the brothers ‘identified vulnerable people and exploited their needs for affection, trust, stability, creating the impression of a close relationship’.

The tactics are known as the ‘lover boy’ method, which is used by criminals to recruit victims who are suffering from economic hardship by seducing them with gifts and promises of a better life abroad.

The brothers had ‘the role of recruiting people, who were transported and housed in houses in Romania… and the role of supervising and coordinating the entire exploitation activity’, prosecutors claim.

The prosecutors claimed allowing Tate and Tristan to not face imprisonment ‘poses a danger to public order’.

It comes after it emerged that a mystery ‘madam’ – identified only as Ana B in court documents – reportedly helped run the Tate and Tristan’s alleged human trafficking operation in Romania, reports Gandul.

Ana B would allegedly sign the contracts and pay the women working in Tate’s reported webcam operation from a building in the Romanian town of Popești-Leordeni.

The news site reported Ana’s home was raided by police on April 11 last year as part of the human trafficking probe. The former casino worker was detained but later released.

It came after it was revealed that Tate was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault in 2015 while running a webcam business in Britain.

Tate was accused of violently abusing two women who on Wednesday came forward with their claims.

One of the women alleges he raped her, while the other claimed he repeatedly strangled both of them. Tate denied the allegations in a statement issued to Vice from his Romanian lawyer.

The accusers also blamed the UK judicial system for ‘mishandling’ their case, which left Tate, who has gained hordes of fans after sharing misogynistic content online, free to gain global popularity.

According to one woman, who was 20 at the time, Tate used ’emotional and physical’ manipulation while running his Luton-based webcam business back in 2015.

She told Vice World News how she was allegedly a regular victim of abuse during her £15-an-hour shifts for Tate’s webcam business from a ‘dingy flat in Luton’ and was strangled ‘at least five times’.

She said: ‘When I saw that he was arrested in Romania I was shocked and didn’t know how to react. I cried. Everything I read is what I told the police [at the time of the complaint].’

The second accuser, who was allegedly raped by Tate, added: ‘I have been very frustrated by the British police and court system for a long time, they could have stopped him from doing the exact same abuse to these women in Romania.

‘I hope and pray he’s finally arrested for his disgusting abuse and crimes against young women, and I can finally exist without having to see and hear the person who degraded and raped me all over the Internet.’

The accusations come after the social media influencer was arrested in Romania in December following allegations he forced women he kept in his house to create online pornographic videos for profit.

Tate was arrested alongside his brother Tristain and Luana Radu and Georgiana Naghel, who are all accused of luring women to the compound and then ‘coercing’ and ‘controlling’ them to create social media pornography.

Images from last week, taken by local news site Gandul, show Tate dressed in a black hoodie on one side of the van next to Naghel, his alleged girlfriend of one year,  who in turn was sat next to Radu, a former policewoman.

Tate, his brother Tristan, and the other suspects are all set to be held for 30 days while Romanian police continue their probe.

Georgiana Naghel (left), 28, is described as a businesswoman and influencer who is believed to have been dating Tate for almost a year before her arrest. Luana Radu (right), 32, was previously based at a police station in central Bucharest but quit the force eight years ago to pursue a career working in video chat rooms

Meanwhile, in 2015, Tate was released under investigation in the UK after two women claimed he has sexually assaulted them. He later appeared as a contestant in the Big brother house in 2016.

At the time of the alleged incidents, Tate was released under investigation and appeared as a contestant in the Big Brother house in 2016.

Tate was eventually booted off the Channel 5 reality show, with reports linking his ousting with a video shared online appearing to show the influencer slapping an ex-girlfriend and hitting her with a belt.

However, it has since been claimed that the real reason behind Tate’s ejection was the fact the police’s sexual abuse investigation came to light.

Producers were aware of the police investigation at the time of Tate entering as a contestant, telling Vice he was ‘closely monitored at all times’ before being ejected five days later on June 13, 2016.

But it was reported last night that there were delays made by Hertfordshire Police in handing the case over to the Crown Prosecution Service. The accusers also claim Herts Police ‘mishandled’ their case.

In a statement, a Hertfordshire Police spokesperson told Vice: ‘We acknowledge that there were some delays to the investigation. This was addressed at the time and apologies were made.

‘The case was only closed in late 2019 after a case file had been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service and they took the decision not to prosecute.

‘All those involved in the investigation were further updated at that time.’

Chicago-born Tate, whose full name is Emory Andrew Tate III, has been branded ‘the king of toxic masculinity’ for his online diatribes against women – which have gained him notoriety and millions of followers.

Tate, a former pro kickboxer, first came to prominence when he appeared on the reality show Big Brother in 2016, but was ejected from the show after a video surfaced online which appeared to show him striking a woman with a belt – a clip he claimed had been edited.

Tate’s home in the Eastern European nation was also raided on April 11 this year as part of a human trafficking investigation.

Following the April raid, which was reportedly prompted by a complaint from a US citizen to the American Embassy in Bucharest, the Tate brothers were detained for several hours for questioning but ultimately released as the investigation continued.

Andrew Tate has previously boasted to his followers that ’40 percent’ of the reason he moved to Romania was because the police were less likely to pursue any sexual assault allegations against him.

Together with his brother Tristan, he allegedly set up a webcam business in Romania in which young models told sob stories to unsuspecting male viewers.

Despite previously saying that the site was ‘a total scam’, Tate claims to have made millions from it.
