BBC Weather forecaster Susan Powell noted that tropical air will be moving into Europe over the next two days. She said that this will drive temperatures up for some regions like France, Spain and the UK. Despite the surge in temperature, western Europe will, most notably the UK, will still see heavy rain.

Elsewhere in Europe it remains relatively dry with some cold air in Scandinavia potentially bringing snow.

Ms Powell said: “Some really warm air is going to make its way into western Europe over the next 48 hours.

“You can trace this amber band all the way down to the tropics, the air will be fed in on southerly or southwesterly winds.

“But accompanying the very warm or mild air there will also be some heavy rain.

“This is true for the UK and this frontal system will run up to Scandinavia where it will meet colder air.

“I think we could see some snowfall here too.

The BBC Weather forecaster noted that in south western Europe the area will remain dry for the most part.

She also highlighted that central Europe will see some above-average temperatures over the next few days.
