Denver weather: Sunny on Saturday and Sunday with snow moving in Monday night.

Skies will be sunny on Saturday in the metro area with the high temperature climbing into the mid-40s in most areas.

Afternoon winds will be calm in Denver, at about 6 mph, as the high temperature reaches 44 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. Skies will be mostly clear overnight as the low drops to about 24 degrees.

Metro area afternoon temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 30s and into the 40s from the foothills and east onto the plains, the weather service said. Colder weather will hang on in the mountains west of Denver with high temperatures in the 20s.

Sunday’s weather in Denver will be warmer, with the high temperature hitting around 53 degrees under sunny skies. Monday will be mostly sunny with a high near 48 degrees as the next weather system moves into the area bringing a chance of snow overnight.

On Monday night in Denver there’s a 60% chance of snow, mainly after midnight. Skies will be mostly cloudy and the low temperature will be near 25 degrees, according to the forecast. There’s a 50% chance for snow in Denver on Tuesday before noon. The high temperature is expected to be 37 degrees under partly sunny skies.
