A father posted a furious rant to TikTok after his 9-year-old son went to the doctor for a routine physical and was asked about his gender identity.
The father, who has not been named, claims the first question the doctor asked his young son was whether he identifies as a ‘boy, a girl, genderfluid or nonbinary’ – and fumed that his son hasn’t heard of those terms before.
His rant on Friday has since gone viral, garnering more than 17.7million views by Monday after Texas Freedom Coalition President Sarah Fields shared it on Twitter.
‘This is why I homeschool and why I make sacrifices to pay for a private family practitioner,’ she tweeted.
‘The world has lost its mind. I’m sharing his video here because I already know his video will be taken down on TikTok.’
Meanwhile on Twitter, Elon Musk responded to the video saying it is ‘time for parents to fight back!’

Wrong on So many levels. In the words of Pink Floyd “leave them kids alone” #doctor #sons #boys #physical #girls
In the video, the dad says he had just gotten off the phone with his wife, who took their 9-year-old and 7-year-old sons to the doctor for routine physicals before the next school year.
His elder son, he explained, had to get the doctor’s clearance to play tackle football.
It is unclear exactly where the father lives with his children, but he regularly posts about life on Long Island, New York and New York City policies.
‘I just pulled over to do this video because I’m literally on fire right now,’ the angry father whose TikTok username is @jotojavin said.
‘I just got off the phone with my wife, who took my 9 and 7-year-old boys to the doctor today to get physicals for tackle football and school next year and all that other s***.
‘My 9-year-old son went in first, and the first thing this woman asks him is if he identifies as a boy, a girl, genderfluid or nonbinary. My son has never heard of any of that s*** before.’
The dad then said his sons have been seeing that doctor their entire lives, and his 9-year-old is ‘clearly a boy’s boy.’
‘So what are you trying to plant, a f****** seed in his head?’
‘The only thing I could be thankful for is that my wife took them instead of me, and props to my wife because she said something. And if she didn’t, they would ask my 7-year-old son the same damn question,’ he continued. ‘This s*** is ridiculous.
‘And to the people out there who think that there’s nothing wrong with that, and I’m just a transphobe or all that s***, you’re f***** up. This is bulls***, and there’s something wrong with you.’
He added in the caption of the video that it was ‘wrong on so many levels,’ and invoked Pink Floyd’s Another Brick in the Wall, writing ‘leave them kids alone.’
Protesters are seen here in Arkansas as lawmakers considered a ban on gender-affirming care in 2021
His video comes just weeks after a federal judge struck down Arkansas’ first-in-the-nation ban on gender-affirming care for children.
U.S. District Judge Jay Moody temporarily blocked the law in 2021 and on made the stay permanent late last month.
He ruled that the ban violated the rights of doctors and discriminated against transgender people.
‘Rather than protecting children or safeguarding medical ethics, the evidence showed that the prohibited medical care improves the mental health and well-being of patients and that, by prohibiting it, the state undermined the interests it claims to be advancing,’ he wrote
The law also would have prohibited doctors from referring patients elsewhere for such care.
The state’s attorney general immediately said he would appeal.
‘Judge Moody misses what is widely known: There is no scientific evidence that any child will benefit from these procedures, while the consequences are harmful and often permanent,’ Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin said on Twitter.
‘We will appeal to the Eighth Circuit.’
But at least 19 other states have enacted laws restricting or banning gender-affirming care for minors and Moody’s ruling will be closely watched as nearly all of the bans have been challenged in federal court.
