Fire breaks out at Covid vaccination centre as people forced to run from burning building in Surrey

FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze that has broken out at a Covid vaccination centre in Surrey.

People awaiting jabs were forced to run from the burning building when the fire broke out earlier today.

Fire crews were called to the fire at the Vaccination Hub in Emerbrook Community Centre, Thames Dutton at 3.33pm today.

Everyone was self-evacuated after people began to smell burning and the power went out, a witness told SurreyLive.

Six fire engines and the aerial ladder platform are currently in attendance and the fire is confined to the roof.

Photos show firefighters tackling the blaze with smoke is pouring out of the building.

The first fire engine was in attendance in just over four minutes.
