A distraught mum says she hasn't celebrated Christmas since her teen daughter tragically died three years ago.
Eboney Cheshire was just 13 years old when she died in the early hours of December 3. 2018 after suffering a massive seizure the night before, reports the Liverpool ECHO.
An inquest later found that her death was a result of poisoning from the substance MDMA, which is commonly known as the party drug ecstasy.
Her mother Kerry Williams believes it was put in to the teenager's drink.
The mum of two explained how the festive period is now painful for her family, telling the ECHO:
"The day before she passed away, I was actually putting up the tree while she was poorly on the couch, then we just sat there watching Christmas movies together."
"It was the next day that I found her and then she died in the early hours of December 3, so it is really hard, at first I couldn't even put the tree up at all.
"But I do have little nephews and so my family tell me to make an effort, so I made it into an Eboney tree, it's all pink and it's got angel wings all over it, so it's literally an Eboney tree, that's the way I look at it, but no I won't celebrate Christmas anymore, it's just not the same is it. It can't be."
Eboney's mum added that the 13-year-old was extremely popular and had talked of being a doctor when she grew up, with teachers at her school being blown away by her intelligence from a young age.
Mrs Williams said: "She knew all the capital cities of the world at an unbelievably young age and she would come out with massive words that her grandad would teach her, and this is from nursery age."
Eboney attended Rainhill High, and has an older sibling, Leon, who is 19.
Her mum explained how Leon was an anxiety sufferer and as a result had become somewhat withdrawn, but had promised her sister after her death that he would start to confront his condition and come out of his shell.
Leon has a driving test coming up in January, and Mrs Williams said it had "broken" her heart to use the family savings to pay for it, as she had always promised this would be split between him and Eboney.
She has now told Leon that this was a "gift" from her sister.
