THE home city of Ukraine's Eurovision act was this evening hit by Russian missiles just minutes before the duo took to the stage.
As Tvorchi was getting set to perform their song inspired by soldiers who defended their war-torn country, the group revealed their hometown of Ternopil had been bombed.
Jeffrey Kenny and Andrew Hutsuliak quickly took to Instagram before they sang to hundreds of millions, announcing their west Ukrainian city was being attacked.
The group could then be seen holding a sign that read Ternopil amid a sea of yellow and blue flags.
After walking backstage at Eurovision Tvorchi posted: "Ternopil is the name of our hometown, which was bombed by Russia while we sang on the Eurovision stage about our steel hearts, indomitability and will.
"This is a message for all cities of Ukraine that are shelled every day. Kharkiv, Dnipro, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Uman, Sumy, Poltava, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Kherson and all others.

BBC reported two people were injured when the missiles hit, and warehouses had been smashed to pieces, too.
Tvorchi exclusively told The Sun on Sunday ahead of their performance that their song Heart of Steel honoured those trapped at the Azovstal steel plant during bombardments in Mariupol.
Lead singer Jeffrey told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s about bravery — to keep going no matter how wounded and exhausted you are.

“It’s about unbreakable will, which makes you who you really are.”
Andrew added: “We wrote Heart of Steel when we saw a video of the defenders heroically standing at Azovstal.
“There was no fear or despair in their eyes. There was a fire burning there. We translated the emotions into music.”
It comes just hours after a Russian fighter jet and helicopter were seen crashing amid reports a further two warplanes have also been downed.
Footage shows Su-34 jet and a Mi-8 chopper were seen coming down near a Russian town within two hours of each other and it's claimed all four aircraft were brought down by friendly fire.
Yesterday Ukrainian missiles were said to have targeted Russian-occupied cities while Vladimir Putin's humiliated troops were on the retreat in Bakhmut.
The Russian-held city of Melitopol was left without power following an explosion, officials said.
