Trump article of impeachment over Capitol riot sent to Senate
A Kentucky man who won fourth place in a “sexy” farmer contest has been charged with breaching the US Capitol, authorities said.
Jordan T. Revlett, 23, of Island, was arrested Monday by the FBI in Owensboro on charges of unlawful entry on restricted grounds and violent entry or disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds in the Jan. 6 siege that left five people dead, including police officer Brian Sicknick.
A criminal complaint cites video surveillance showing Revlett storming into the Capitol at about 2:30 p.m. via a west terrace door. A tipster gave investigators screenshots and a 42-second video from his Snapchat account showing the carnage inside the building during the riots, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.
“We’re in the f—ing Capitol,” a man yells on the clip, an FBI agent wrote in the complaint.
The footage then shows rioters inside the building amid chants of “let us through” before Revlett appears in a selfie with a caption reading: “Just so you guys know a capitol police officer opened the door from inside to let us in,” the complaint states.
Two years before allegedly storming the Capitol, Revlett took home fourth place in a country radio station’s “She Thinks Her Farmer’s Sexy” contest seeking the hottest local farmhands, WBKR reported.
Revlett, clad in a cowboy hat and a sleeveless flannel shirt in front of John Deere farming equipment, racked up nearly 8,000 votes in the contest sponsored by Ohio Valley Insurance – good enough to win tickets to see country singer Justin Moore in Louisville, the station reported.
“I’d like to thank everyone that voted for me, almost 8,000 votes,” Revlett tweeted in July 2019. “This started as a contest, but it turned into much more than that for me. It turned into my friends and family making sure that I got what I wanted and I really couldn’t appreciate anymore than I do.”
Revlett’s account, which has roughly 800 followers, features a photo of former President Donald Trump and rap legend Lil Wayne.
“Aspire to inspire,” his bio reads.
Revlett, who pleaded not guilty Monday in federal court in Owensboro, remains in custody. He will be tried in DC Circuit Court, the Courier Journal reported.
