TattsLotto: Father wins $2.5million after wife bought lottery ticket from Cohuna newsagent

An Aussie dad has been given a Father’s Day to remember after he was gifted a lottery ticket before winning $2.5million.
The man pocketed the prize money after his wife bought the winning TattsLotto ticket from her local newsagent at Cohuna, on the Victorian and NSW border.
His wife learned of the win before she was even able to gift the ticket to her husband for Father’s Day.
‘I scanned the ticket on The Lott app, and it came up that we had won a significant prize, $2.5 million to be exact,’ she said.
The ticket was one of eight division one winning entries that were drawn on Saturday.

The overjoyed wife said she ‘started to cry’ and waited until her husband returned from work to give him the life-changing news.
‘You should have seen his face when have it to him. He just couldn’t believe it,’ she said.
The shocked woman said the couple shed a lot of tears as they told their children the big news.
‘My husband already had a tear in his eye before he could let them know,’ she said.
‘We said to them, ‘Listen, we’ve got something to tell you. You have to listen to us for a minute.’
‘They immediately thought something was wrong – that their dad was unwell or something serious.
The family plans to share the money among each other.
‘We’re not keeping all of the prize,’ the woman said. ‘We’re going to share the love’.
The winning ticket which was purchased at Cohuna Papers Plus, created a buzz around town following the couple’s major win.
Owner Bernice Mackenzie said it was a special moment for locals.
Cohuna Papers Plus was the local news agent who sold one of the winning tickets form the division one entries of TattsLotto draw which was announced on Saturday
‘This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold at out outlet, and we couldn’t be happier for our winner,’ Ms Mackenzie said.
‘We had many customers come in to check their tickets wondering if they were the mystery winner as the ticket was unregistered for more than two days’.
The winning numbers of Saturday’s draw were 9, 37, 32, 41, 40, and 16.
Out of the eight division one winners, three took out the prize in Victoria and New South Wales while one person in Queensland and Western Australia also won.
Some 277 people have now taken out a share of division one winning entries from the Lott, so far in 2023.
There have been 332 division one winning entries in draws held by Tattslotto with the the winners taking home more than $463 million in prize money.
