Man wanted by Louisville police is arrested by the FBI.

A man wanted by Louisville police who was considered armed and dangerous has been arrested by the FBI.

Brian Murray, who was wanted for failure to appear and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, was arrested on Tuesday by the FBI on federal and local charges, according to a police news release.

Police had described Murray as “armed and dangerous” and that he had “threatened the lives of specific individuals and law enforcement officers.”

Murray was arrested on Nov. 16 and released on a personal recognizance bond, police said.

Denver7 reported Tuesday that Murray was arrested in California and that he is “also wanted in connection to the murder of a 77-year-old man in Denver last week, according to a high-ranking law enforcement source.”

On Thursday police found the body of William “Stu” Hoebel, 77, in his home in the 1100 block of Vine Street. Hoebel died of “injuries,” Denver police said. His silver 2018 Nissan Rogue was “taken during the incident,” but investigators have since found the vehicle.

A Denver police spokesman on Tuesday afternoon would only say that the Hoebel homicide is under ongoing investigation.
