Melania Trump slammed for anti-bullying tweet days before she leaves White House

Melania Trump 's latest tweet has been mocked mercilessly – after she posted a three-minute anti bullying video that did not include a single second of her husband.

The First Lady of the United States was calling on her 16.4million followers to protect the legacy of her Be Best campaign, an anti-abuse drive she launched for the children of America during her time in the White House.

But many others were quick to point out that her husband, President Donald Trump, did not appear in the video at all. And has something of a reputation for being a bully himself.

The former model and wife of the 45th President of the United States had written: "As the legacy of Be Best comes to a close at the White House, we must continue to give a voice to our Nation's children & the issues that impact their lives.

"It's the values & spirit of the American people that inspired Be Best & it's those values that will carry on its mission."

Underneath those words appeared a three-and-a-half minute video that did not feature the outgoing President Trump – who will be turfed out of the White House on Wednesday, January 20 before Democrat Joe Biden is sworn in – at all.

But that wasn't enough to deflect people from pointing out that the Don might not have endorsed her message.

One reply read: "You have been married to the greatest bully on the planet, who you watched publicly and perpetually harass people on social media to such a degree that millions were physically and emotionally traumatised, and many died.

" It will be a joy to watch you leave."

While another added: "Your husband is the biggest online bully the world’s ever seen. Your mission failed miserably."

Melania was widely criticised earlier this month for maintaining a lengthy radio silence after supporters of her husband stormed the US Capitol in Washington DC and started a series of riots that killed five people.

She eventually released a public statement outlining a "way forward" that was widely condemned as "too little, too late".
