My toddler was left bruised after falling head-first out of a holiday park pedal cart with a loose seat – I'm furious | The Sun

A MUM has shared how her toddler was left bruised after falling head-first out of a park pedal cart with a loose seat.

Faye Croft, 29, has been left furious after her two-year-old son Ethan "went flying out the front of the vehicle" they had rented while on a family holiday.

The mum, from Huddersfield, said the incident happened back in July when they went over a speed bump at Skipsea Sands caravan park in East Yorkshire.

Faye who was pedalling with her 10-year-old nephew next to her and her two children in the front said the seat became loose causing her son to fall leaving him with a bruise on his head and a big scratch on his face.

The mum told Yorkshire Live: "The whole chair fully came out of the kart, he was seatbelted in and the whole seat went flying out, he landed on the ground head first, it was lucky he was still in the chair because I would have run him over.

“I scooped him out and he had a massive egg on his head and a scratch to his face. My daughter then stood up and said ‘mummy my seats come out.'"

The mum added that she paid for the two £10 deposits and was told to wait at the side while she was not given any warning about safety regarding the carts or how to use the brakes.

The next day the family went back to the caravan park asking to speak to a manager- who asked whether they had signed an accident waiver, something that Faye insists was never given.

She added: "He told us that shouldn't have happened and said he would get in touch with the people they rent the karts from and ask them to do a full investigation."

Faye claims she has still not heard from the caravan park and even though she tried contacting them she couldn't get answers about what happened to her son.

She continued: “It annoyed me more because nobody has been in touch with me, I haven’t heard anything from anybody.

“The manager asked how fast we were going, I’m not stupid it was just like an insult.

"If I was going any faster it could have been worse, it could have killed him, he literally ended up headfirst, it was awful.

“He’s alright now, obviously you can still see where it happened, it’s still really red, but he is alright in himself."

A spokesperson for Skipsea Sands Holiday Park said: "We welcome tens of thousands of happy families every year, and we have never had an incident like this with our karts.
