Palace told ‘write Prince Harry a cheque to stop his royal tell-all’ by author

Ahead of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration today, a Royal expert has claimed the firm should give Prince Harry a 'blank cheque' to stop him from writing his tell-all memoir about the family.

Harry and Meghan arrived back in the UK yesterday to take part in the fun, however, tensions since Megxit in 2020 and the Oprah interview a year later have reportedly not cooled entirely.

And Royal expert and author Tina Brown has now warned that the main priority of the damaged firm should be for Harry to agree to take his potentially damaging memoir off the table.

Speaking in the Times: "Somebody needs to go to Harry and try saying, 'We're going to give you a cheque for whatever fee you've negotiated for the book and, in return, we ask that you don't do it."'

Since the announcement of the book last year, which has been billed as an 'inspiring, courageous and uplifting story' speculation has been rife about when it will be published and what it will include.

Speaking to The Times this year spokeswoman for the publishers, Penguin Random House said it did not yet have a publication date whilst Harry's spokeswoman gave a similar response and another source said there was “some uncertainty” over the book’s publication date.

It's thought that the Queen will meet Harry and Meghan and their children later this weekend, as The Queen is yet to meet her great-granddaughter Lilibet, who turns 1 on Saturday.

And when the pair meet expert Richard Kay believes, the symbolic importance is clear for all to see.

He said: "A photograph of Lilibet meeting Lilibet would be a more eloquent symbol of family unity and forgiveness than any anonymous briefing.

"It could also be a powerful metaphor for things to come."
