Severe weather is expected in the metro area with possible flooding

3:05 p.m.: At Denver International Airport, all inbound flights are being held at their origin until 3:30 p.m., according to FlightAware.com. Arrivals are delayed about 30 minutes with the time increasing. DIA has 42 outbound flights delayed as of about 3 p.m.

2:30 p.m.: Strong thunderstorms will push through the metro area moving northeast into the evening, brief heavy rain and hail up to one-inch in diameter is expected in some areas.

2:24 p.m.: A flood advisory is issued for Larimer County, including the Cameron Peak wildfire burn scar area, through 3 p.m.

2:20 p.m.: Quarter-sized hail is hitting Parker, which remains under a severe thunderstorm warning through 2:45 p.m.

2:16 p.m.: The risk for severe weather is “marginal” Wednesday for the metro area through 8 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Heavy rain, hail and winds gusting to 60 mph are in the forecast.

2:05 p.m.: Thunderstorms are rolling into the metro area and a severe thunderstorm warning in effect through 2:45 p.m. for Parker has been issued by the National Weather Service.
