A TEENAGE boy has died and three others are injured in a crash after a police chase.
All four people are said to have been in a car which struck a tree just before midnight on July 21, near Bosty Lane in Aldridge, Walsall.
It’s thought traffic officers spotted the vehicle moments earlier and there was a short pursuit, according to West Midlands Police.
Cops gave initial medical assistance, including CPR, at the scene until paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service arrived.
The 17-year-old boy died at the scene from his injuries.
The three other people, a 16-year-old boy and two men aged 21 and 22 were rushed to hospital and their conditions are not thought to be life-threatening.
Liaison officers are supporting the families of all those involved in the crash.
An investigation has been launched.
The incident is being assessed by West Midlands Police’s Professional Standards Department (PSD) and is being referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).
Cops will review dashcam footage and body worn video footage as part of the probe.
