He is then said to have somehow managed to swipe the German's wallet before fleeing in the wheelchair.

There was mayhem in the square as people, not knowing what had happened, saw a bunch of tourists chasing a disabled person over cobbles, but luckily police were on hand to solve the issue.

A patrol of officers from the National Police happened to be in the area at the time and were alerted to what had happened.

They joined the chase and eventually managed to catch up to the alleged thief, then proceeding to arrest him. He is facing a charge of aggravated robbery.

The German tourist was reportedly left bleeding profusely from his face and screaming in agony.

His injuries were so bad that an ambulance was called to take him to hospital whilst the arrest was being made.

The thief was also loaded into an ambulance as police cars in Majorca are not equipped to transport disabled people. He was taken straight to a police station.
