A WOMAN'S decomposing body was found rotting in her home six weeks after she died.
Sophia Yuferev, 37, who had paranoid schizophrenia, was discovered by cops who faced a "potent and overwhelming smell" on entry.
Officers were first alerted by Sophia's care coordinator that she missed her injections, and her mum also reported concerns.
During a welfare visit to her flat at Hornchurch, East London, in November last year, cops removed Sophia's peephole only to be hit by a putrid stench.
After making their way inside, police endured a "potent and overwhelming smell" before finding the artist "laying on her back in a white night gown", reports The Mirror.
Sophia was estranged from her mother and the financial support she provided after their last meeting ended in shouting, the East London Coroner's court heard.

East London Coroner's court heard that Sophia had gone without her fortnightly medicine for six weeks, a care coordinator for ten weeks, and Personal Independence Payments since February 2021.
And it was revealed that her North East London Foundation Trust care coordinator only realised she missed her appointments on November 12 after picking up Sophia's case – in a caseload of 25.
Due to the level of decomposition it is not clear if Sophia died within this period, though "there was post gathering outside the address".
A toxicology report found alcohol levels consistent with decomposition and Sophia was known to be teetotal – so alcohol was ruled out.

Lawyer Andrew Perfect also suggested sudden weight loss could not be ruled out, noting that Sophia had no known income at the time of her death after being cut off benefits.
Sophia's family told MyLondon she "had not enough money, not enough energy to feed herself and look after herself, she was not responsible for herself to care for herself".
Due to her paranoid schizophrenia, Sophia had previously fled to Siberia to be with her dad, flown to Israel, been repatriated to the UK, and made other escape attempts to Heathrow or nearby forests.
This often left her mum "picking up the pieces", according to her family.
Consultant psychiatrist Dr Gupta admitted she had not seen Sophia since November 2019, which was two years before her death.
And an official report on Sophia's death said using locum and duty staff had been the bigger cause in factors leading to her death.
It documented a series of decisions that left Sophia without a care coordinator for ten weeks.
Much to the family's anger, care director Irvine Muronzi said that Sophia's missed injection on October 26 could have been picked up by duty staff.
Mr Muronzi said: "There could have been an earlier intervention of the police and we should have notified the police earlier."
He added the Covid related staff shortages were "unprecedented" and duty staff were there to "manage" and "contain" risks.
And speaking after the inquest, family members Maria Mashiah and Yulia Tlili slammed Sophia's treatment from the Trust as "appalling".
Yulia said: "I think it really did not give us closure. She could have been saved or we could have helped her. Let them bend backwards and see not just a number but a human."
Maria added that Sophia "just fell through the gap" – "for two years the psychiatrist did not see her in person, this was appalling".
Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe concluded the "dreadful loss" was caused by a build-up of acids in Sophia's blood.
The pathologist said she could not find "a clear-cut cause of death".

Dr Radcliffe could not rule out "rapid weight decrease", an infection, or diabetes and remarked "we could not provide the answers the family were looking for".
She added: "It's not possible to say if an earlier follow-up about her attendance would have altered the outcome."
