The Business Secretary was questioned by Labour’s  Lucy Powell over the UK’s future in British steel. Kwasi Kwarteng commented: “I appreciate things are getting very long in this House.” But the Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle hit out at the minister for his comments.

He said: “Order! I think I’m the judge of that. Also, I think the Secretary of State may be new to the dispatch box in his new position.

“The Opposition is entitled to three minutes and the member has not actually taken three minutes so please let me make the judgements.”
