A bonkers boyfriend turned up in a balaclava to pour two trays of dirty cat litter over his fiancée after he found out she was seeing someone else.
In a fit of jealous rage, Michael Dean also punched the woman in the head and caused £2,000 of damage to the new bloke’s home.
But since the case went to court, the roofer has fallen in love with someone else and is expecting a baby, Michael’s lawyer said.
The 37-year-old wore the balaclava in a half-hearted attempt to hide his identity – but his victim quickly realised who it was, reports DerbyshireLive.
Handing him a two-year community order, magistrate Paul McCaffrey said: "This was clearly a revenge attack on your partner during which you even turned up wearing a balaclava in a vague attempt to disguise yourself.
"You sought to humiliate her by pouring cat litter over her which contained urine and faeces.
"And you systematically caused a lot of damage at the other man's property."
At Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court, the prosecutor Peter Bettany said the victim was at an address when she saw her ex, with the disguise over his head inside the house.
The offence took place in December 2019 in Ilkeston, he added.
He said: "Screaming could be heard by the neighbours.
"She said she went to the kitchen but the defendant got hold of her phone, threw it into the toilet, picked it back up and snapped it.

"As she was walking away he threw a cat litter tray which was had an extensive amount of contents over her."
Michael, of Ilkeston, then left but came back a couple of days later to damage the home.
Despite denying the charges, he was found guilty after trial of common assault and criminal damage charges.
Theo Addae, defending, said when his client was told about the new relationship the victim was in, they were engaged and planning a wedding.
He said the defendant, of Wallcliff Road, challenged his then fiancée about the matter and she admitted cheating.
Mr Addae said: "He has now moved on, got a new partner and she is pregnant."
As part of the community order Dean must undertake 200 hours unpaid work and attend five rehabilitation sessions.
He was also ordered to pay more than £3,000 in compensation, charges and surcharges.
